Hospitality and friendliness makes Kyrgyz people stand apart

Kyrgyz, Turkish speaking people of Central Asia, most of whom live in Kyrgyzstan and small numbers in Afghanistan, in western China, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Turkey. The name Kyrgyz dates back to the 18th century, these people originated in the Siberian region of the Yenisey valley and travelled to the area of modern day Kyrgyzstan in response to pressure from the Mongols. The Kyrgyz people believe that they are descended from forty tribes. The broader economic classification states that Kyrgyzstan has a small upper class and a much larger lower class. The high class comprises of people who can speak Russian, who dress in western style, people living in 2 storey houses or people who are owners of a Mercedes or BMW. Traditionally, the Kyrgyzstan people were nomadic and pastoral just like most of the Central Asian people.

The Kyrgyzstan’s hospitality is well to be respected because for them hospitality has great value and one would find them extremely friendly. The travellers have always had the pleasure of being a receiver of their hospitality which makes their trip full of good memories forever. Who doesn’t want to have the feeling of home away from home? Everyone does and this is what the Kyrgyz people would make you feel – their hospitality and friendliness is to be cherished and praised for years to come. The comfort of their guests and travellers tops their priority list because it is something that runs in their blood; it’s not that only few people are so however almost all the Kyrgyzstan people are like that.

Less of disparities and more of respect

It is not only the beauty that attracts you to Kyrgyzstan but their culture is also something one really needs to experience. In the modern world which we live in, there is hardly anytime left for people to show their hospitality and what more can you ask for than visiting a place where you can enjoy the warm welcomes around. In the past, women had an equal status as that of men in the Kyrgyz culture and the same is prevalent in the modern times as well. Women have the freedom to work however you would find most of them in education and agriculture sectors; this does not mean that they are not there in the corporate world or politics, there are few women in politics as well as at some managerial positions.

Men dominate the business and politics and in addition to the outside responsibilities, women are also responsible for all the household work as well. Respect prevails in the Kyrgyz culture especially when it is about elder people and authoritative figures. One would see it normally that the elders are offered a seat on the public transportation. One should not be surprised if he/she is invited to any Kyrgyz resident’s house because it is pretty common there to invite new acquaintances to home.
